ITS A FAMILY AFFAIR SATURDAYS....
On May 30, Charlotte Pride will be hosting a community photo shoot and we're looking for individuals from various communities to take part in representing the 2015 marketing theme for the festival and parade, "Celebrating & Empowering the LGBTQ Community." We're looking for allies, parents, LGBTQ-headed families, youth, sports buffs, drag performers, elders/seniors, people of color, people of faith and more. We'd love to have you and your organization represented at the photoshoot, with photos being weaved into a variety of online graphics, posters and fliers, banners and more in the lead up to the 2015 Charlotte Pride Festival and Parade in August.
Take a look below at the suggested time slots we have for the various communities we'd like to feature in our marketing campaign this year. If you're interested, let us know and be sure to mark your calendar and the time to show up. (If you or your group can't make it at the suggested time, it's okay! Come on anyway!) We'll be hosting the event at the Charlotte Pride offices, 1900 The Plaza. We'll have snacks and drinks available, along with lunch served from 1-2 p.m. The "dress code" for the photos is anything that makes you feel most comfortable! We're looking for a wide diversity of all kinds of people with all kinds of styles!
Please feel free to forward this to other community members or organizations you think might be interested in participating. And, we'd absolutely love for you to stop by early on the day of the photo shoot and mix and mingle with other community members! Noon-12:30 p.m. — LGBTQ People of Faith (Pastors, Lay Leaders, etc.)
12:30-1 p.m. — LGBTQ Youth (Ages 11-20)
LUNCH — 1-2 p.m.
2-2:30 p.m. — Health & Fitness (Sports Groups and Fitness Buffs)
2:30-3 p.m. — Arts & Culture (LGBTQ Arts and Choral Groups)
3-3:30 p.m. — Elders/Seniors
3:30-4 p.m. — Transgender Community
4-4:30 p.m. — Kings & Queens (Drag Performers)
4:30-5 p.m. — African-American
5-5:30 p.m. — Latino/Latina
5:30-6 p.m. — Women
The above times are suggested, in order to keep our space from getting bottlenecked. If you're interested, be sure to mark your calendar and the time to show up. (If you or your group can't make it at the suggested time, it's okay! Come on anyway!)
