May 15th is Give OUT Day - a national day of giving to LGBT causes!

Once again this year, LGBT organizations are uniting across South Carolina to raise money for the LGBT community in the Palmetto State. Last year we raised over $25,000 in South Carolina in 24 hours!!

Your gift will qualify your favorite South Carolina organization for thousands of bonus prize dollars. Prizes are based on the number of individual donors – so each person who donates increases our chance of winning.

On May 15th, you can support any and all of the following great organizations working to make South Carolina a better place for LGBT people:








Join We Are Family, Southerners On New Ground, Charleston Pride, and SC Equality for our Give OUT Day after party in the form of a Drag Variety Show by Patti O'Furniture and friends. We'll be celebrating all of the SC organizations who are participating in Give OUT Day, a day of raising funds to further the work of LGBTQ justice nationwide.

Now let's talk about money! I know I know, your parents told you not to talk about money, but I bet they told you not to talk about sex either, and how far did that get your lil gay self?!

Now about the money. Did you know that a full third of the all the LGBTQ people in the whole wide U.S. live in the Southeast? Did you know that our region, comparatively, sees only 3-4% of all national LGBTQ funding? That means that as more and more of our young LGBTQ people come out in their hometowns in the South, and as our adult LGBTQ population struggles to pay the bills and live out loud, LGBTQ elders age gracefully, fabulously, but also often in isolation and fear, LGBTQ organizations in the South are not being supported to do the work we need to do in order to take care of each other and fundamentally change this region into a place where all people live free from discrimination and fear.

Give OUT Day is a national day of giving when the LGBTQ community and our allies will work to raise the resources we need to do the work our communities are calling for. Last year, South Carolinians donated over $25,000 to SC organizations in just 24 hours. That is a big deal y'all!! Let's make this year even bigger. And afterwards, join us at Dudley's. There is no entry fee, but we will have donation booths set up if folks want to donate AT the party.
