It's time for Part 4 of OUR *Summer of FLIGHT* Series & this week goes UP with OUR second ever *FLIGHT Benefit* as WE partner UP with visionary CARLINE MCGRUE in a joint effort to raise additional funds & support for orphaned children still suffering from the loss of their families during the 2010 earthquake that nearly destroyed the small but deservedly proud nation of Haiti all together! Each year CARLINE takes a FLIGHT to Haiti at least 3 times a year to PERSONALLY deliver funds, clothing, educational materials & many more much needed supplies DIRECTLY to the children who need it most!

WE are HONORED to possibly assist in this HIGHER ALTITUDE opportunity as "Flight School" will be donating 50% of the entire nights proceeds to this cause & WE're hoping all of US can come out and support as much as possible! WE'll also be enjoying a Special Presentation from the 2014 National Speech & Debate Association INTERPRETIVE Champions led by OUR Sister SHO KING!!! Plus Osmith & Kitten Kuroi will share the Hosting duties during the Open Mic portion along with some help from the Flight School Band!!

Now please allow US to further introduce this weeks Benefit focus & Special Performers:

CHILD OF HAITI, INC-
Child of Haiti, Inc. is the materialization of a dream belonging to CARLINE M. MCGRUE who happens to be a native of Haiti born in Port-au-Prince and now having lived in the United States since the age of 13-years-old. The news of the earthquake devastation in 2010 rocked CARLINE to her core, especially the sight of so many orphans which inspired her to cried out to God asking how she could help her country, her people, and her babies. That's where WE come in because CARLINE is in the midst of building a new multipurpose facility named "Faithful City" that will serve as an orphanage, child development center, and boarding school designed to meet the myriad of needs of children displaced by the Haiti earthquake.

The Faithful City complex will focus on rekindling, reviving, and restoring the lives and futures of Haiti’s orphans. We will provide a strong foundation that will nurture, develop, and educate its students ages 0-18, so they may become the future leaders of Haiti & positive contributors to the rest of Humanity!

Internationally Acclaimed LGBTQ Author Terry Angel Mason, will be a Special Guest on Beautiful Struggle Radio Show [TONIGHT JULY 1, 2014]

Los Angeles, CA-July 1, 2014-The Beautiful Struggle radio show hosted by Penni Wilson will interview internationally-acclaimed author, speaker, and Civil Rights activist, Bishop Terry Angel Mason.

Bishop Mason is a black gay man who is betrothed to a man living in Uganda with whom he has adopted two boys. While he is here in America working feverishly for LGBTQ rights, his “fiancé” and their two sons remain in Uganda living under the constant threat of bodily harm and even the threat of death (while Mason struggles to get them out). According to Freedom to marry.org, “Seventeen countries have approved the freedom to marry for same-sex couples nationwide: The Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Portugal, Iceland, Argentina, Denmark, France, Brazil, Uruguay, New Zealand, Britain, Luxembourg and South Africa, while Mexico and the United States have regional or court-directed provisions enabling same-sex couples to share in the freedom to marry, Many other countries provide some protections for such couples.”

Clearly the continent of Africa overwhelmingly rejects gay marriage. In fact, they reject the very act of homosexuality itself. According to “From Torment to Tyranny,” a report released by Ugandan human rights groups earlier this month, the Anti-Homosexuality Act “has given permission to a culture of extreme and violent homophobia whereby both state and non-state actors are free to persecute Uganda’s LGBTI people with impunity. These include violent attacks, arbitrary arrests, blackmail, evictions and a concerted effort to drive LGBTI civil society underground.”

These extreme draconian laws have been condemned by the United Nations, the president of the United States, and a myriad of other countries around the world. This month, the United States slapped heavy sanctions on Uganda -- cancelling a military air exercise, imposing visa bans and freezing some aid -- amid deep US anger at "vile" Ugandan anti-gay laws. The legislation "runs counter to universal human rights and complicates our bilateral relationship," the White House said, renewing calls for the law to be repealed.

"From Uganda to Russia to Iran, LGBT communities face discriminatory laws and practices that attack dignity, undermine safety and violate human rights," US Secretary of State John Kerry said at a Gay Pride event for his staff. "And we each have a responsibility to push back against the global trend of rising violence and discrimination against LGBT persons," said Kerry, who has likened the Ugandan law to anti-Semitic legislation in Nazi Germany.

In addition to being an internationally acclaimed author, Bishop Terry Angel Mason has been appointed by the National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Organization as a spokesman for the United States. Bishop Mason is a Pulitzer nominated author whose gifted and exceptional use of prose and poetry has given him a unique platform which he passionately utilizes to brilliantly shine the light of justice onto the dark and hidden areas of sexual oppression and discrimination. His first breakthrough book, "Love Won't Let Me Be Silent" propelled him to world-wide recognition, touching the hearts and minds of thousands of men and women, inspiring them to stand up for their God given rights. His literary voice is never strident nor shrill, but still emotionally powerful and compelling as he clearly frames and illuminates the critical issues that impact the lives of gay people around the world.

The show will be broadcast tonight,  at 7:00 pm –PST, on radio stations KPFK 90.7FM, and 98.7 FM and will be streamed over the internet world-wide for the benefit of global listening audiences.
