The Leimert Park Group proudly presents The 4th Annual African Art & Music Festival in Historic Leimert Park Village. This FREE 3-day event, features jazz, blues, reggae, Afro-beat, neo soul, world music, spoken word, comedy, and traditional African drumming and dance. Our 3-day multi-generational and multicultural audience of nearly 10,000 people from across all Los Angeles City council districts and Southern California.

This year we have our most dynamic and diverse line-up:

1:00 pm - Ngozi Flux (Neo Soul)
2:00 pm -"Inspired by Africa" Fashion Show
3:00 pm -Medusa (Spoken Word//Hip Hop)
4:00 pm -DJ Nnamdi from Radio Afrodicia will be broadcasting live from the event and featuring the performance of Saba Saba (Lugaflow/Ugandan Hip Hop)
5:00 pm -Full Circle Band featuring T.C. Moses (R&B)
6:00 pm -"Leimert Park After Dark" entertainment begins at local venues.

11:00 am -Kali Alexander from Lotus on the Nile will do a Yoga demonstration.

Our authentic AFRICAN MARKETPLACE features over 50 vendors selling exquisite fine arts including paintings, sculptures, wood carvings, quilts, jewelry, wearable art and our quality craft vendors will have beautiful hats, purses, shoes, natural bath and body products and so much more.

Our FOOD COURT vendors will offer reasonably priced, ($5-$15), single items and meals, including freshly prepared vegan salads, BBQ, seafood, & chicken, combination plates, Caribbean food, West African food, mouth-watering desserts, icees, and kettle corn. And, our Official Beverage Provider, Pucker-up Lemonade, will have refreshing, ice cold strawberry lemonade, watermelon lemonade, & a classic lemonade, plus a classic iced tea (made with agave) and a mango iced tea.

We also have 4 signature programs:
-"Inspired by Africa" Fashion Show
-"Raw 2 the Roots" Natural Hair Styling Showcase (20 of LA's top stylists w/100 models and natural hair care manufacturers will be there.)
-"Sankofa Sunday" (A remembrance of those who have passed in the last year)
-"Leimert Park After Dark" (activities in Leimert Park after 6pm)

Lastly, we are thrilled to announce that Piccolo Books will be giving away 5,000 children's books and several of our sponsors will be onsite giving away free food (Superior Grocers) drinks (Mc Donald's & Pucker-Up Lemonade) & product samples (Miss Jessie's).

This is a family-friendly event, with activities for children, teens, young adults & adults. Our venue is ADA friendly, and we are easily accessible by Metro and conveniently located near several major freeways (405, 10 & 110). Parking is available throughout the surrounding neighborhood, at metered parking lots ($2.50/day) and there is metered street parking. We strongly suggest that our guests carpool or utilize public transportation.
